For nearly a month, the Sacramento Sutter Cancer Center faced a difficult task of obtaining local media exposure for one of its fundraising activities.

Kathy Somerton, a cancer survivor and avid cyclist, organized a 1,000-mile cycling tour from Vancouver, British Columbia, to Mendocino, California. The goal: to raise research funds for the Sutter Cancer Center. Together with her team of cyclists, their courageous achievement raised over $100,000 for the fight against cancer.

Kenyon Black, under direction from chief medical director at the Cancer Center, Dr. Gregory Graves, saw an opportunity to promote the fundraising activity and enhance the visibility of the region's leading cancer care treatment facility.
